Kevin served in the Army for more than 8 years and received the Coveted Army Master Fitness Trainer certification as well as a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer Certification through ACE (American Council on Exercise). Kevin was trained as a Combat MP and served with Army Special Forces during several highly kinetic deployments to places including Iraq and Afghanistan. Kevin also participated in and received training from the Army Boxing team. Kevin routinely served as the Fitness NCO where he used his certifications and experience to train Soldiers in his unit. Following the Army Kevin worked at LA Fitness as a Personal Training Director which allowed him to further refine his techniques and knowledge.
I've been personal training for almost 10 years now. I'm certified with ACSM, known as the gold standard for personal trainers. I quit my corporate America job to do training full time because this is what I'm passionate about. I'm invested in my clients & care deeply not only that they get to their fitness goals but also create habits and lifestyle changes for the better.
My training background comes from that of a practitioner and an educator. Growing up, I was always into sports and had a thirst for understanding how the body could do amazing things like bend, twist, push, and pull. This lead me to the military, where I served almost 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. Physical fitness had become engrained in me, and I had a desire teach and give back to others. Formally educated at George Mason University (BS in Recreational Health and Fitness Resources with a concentration in Kinesiology) and later at A.T. Still University (MS in Kinesiology with a dual concentration in Exercise and Sports Psychology and Sports Conditioning), I now teach at Lake Washington Institute of Technology. I have am a Certifcertified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Weightlifting coach, USA Track and Field coach, group and individual TRX instructor.
